Privacy notice

Hachiko JDM Motors (hachikojdm.com) helps buyers in Canada and the US find Japanese sports cars. Enquiries are handled with our sister company KaigaiCars (kaigaicars.com), which runs the systems behind our form. We are responsible for the personal information described here.

When you register interest: your name, an email address or phone number, your country and province or state, the car you want, your budget and anything you write to us. We also note which page you sent it from.

When you visit: our host keeps standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested, to run and protect the site. Your IP address is also used for a short time to stop the form being flooded; it is not saved with your message.

We do not use cookies, advertising trackers or analytics on hachikojdm.com. The pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page opens.

To answer your enquiry, for example with eligibility for your province or state and what the car is fetching in Japan; to contact you about the car you asked for when sourcing opens; and to keep the site secure. We do not sell your information or add you to a newsletter.

We share it only with the service providers below and, if you later ask us to source a car, with the exporter, shipping company and customs broker who need it for that car, limited to what they need.

Vercel hosts the site and the enquiry system. Turso stores enquiries in our database. Resend delivers a copy of each enquiry to our team by email. Google Fonts serves the fonts.

These providers may store and process information outside Canada, mainly in the United States, where it can be accessed by courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under the laws there.

We keep an enquiry while we are in touch with you about it and delete it two years after our last contact, or sooner if you ask. Our host keeps server logs for a short period.

The site is served over HTTPS. Enquiries are visible only to our team, through a password-protected admin account.

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it and stop contacting you. Send the request through the form on our home page with the word "privacy" in your message; we reply within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

If our practices change we will update this page and the version date at the top.
